The Breguet Marine is the house's sports collection, launched in 1990 and named for Abraham-Louis Breguet's appointment as chronometer maker to the French navy; Bob's Watches describes it as inspired by the marine chronometers Breguet supplied the French Royal Navy under Louis XVIII, with a "double bezel", prominent lugs, Roman numerals and blued hands as its signatures. (Bob's Watches) The line has run through several generations of case and dial, from the early wave-guilloché models to the big-date ref. 5817 of the 2000s, a 39 mm automatic with a coin-edged case sold in steel and gold on rubber, leather or bracelet, and the redesigned collection of 2017 onward.
