The Breguet Type XX is a flyback chronograph Breguet developed to a 1954 French military specification (Type 20) alongside other manufacturers, distinguished by a self-resetting flyback function that lets a pilot restart timing mid-run without stopping and re-zeroing the chronograph. Breguet sold a civilian-cased version as the Type XX alongside the military-marked Type 20, and the line has run in various forms ever since, through 1990s and 2000s reissues and the current Type XX/Type 20 generation. (Breguet)

Surviving military-issue examples and their civilian siblings differ in caseback marking, dial finish and bezel execution across decades of production, and no single reference describes the family's full screen record. (Swiss Watches Magazine)
