Breitling Unitime 1260
More actions
The Breitling Unitime debuted in 1951 as one of the first automatic wristwatches to display all 24 world time zones at once: a rotating outer bezel printed with 24 city names sits over a fixed 24-hour inner ring, and turning the bezel to the wearer's home city reads every other zone's hour straight off the ring, no calculation needed. Reference 1260 runs a roughly 37 mm steel case around Breitling's Caliber 711, built on a Felsa 690 automatic base, with a two-tone silvered dial, a central world-map motif, and a date window at six. The example worn by Benedict Cumberbatch's Greville Wynne in The Courier was reportedly chosen by Cumberbatch himself from several period options and belonged personally to the collector who lent it to the production.
