The Cartier Ballon Bleu de Cartier W6920034 is a 28 mm pink mother-of-pearl execution announced in 2009, two years after Cartier introduced the Ballon Bleu line. Named for the faceted synthetic spinel cabochon that appears to float against the fluted crown like a small blue balloon, this reference cases a quartz movement in steel and 18-karat rose gold. Its convex, brancard-free silhouette breaks from the Tank and Santos families' rectilinear lugs, with Roman numerals and sword-shaped hands above the pink dial. Cartier has since discontinued the reference.
