Cartier Roadster
More actions
The Cartier Roadster is the sporty Cartier of the 2000s, made from 2001 to about 2013, its curved tonneau case and bulging domed crystal styled after a car; the name and the dashboard-like dial with its rail-track minutes are deliberately automotive. The line came in quartz and automatic, in several sizes and metals, on bracelets or quick-change straps, in a larger, more masculine register than the Tank or Santos, so no single reference describes it. The photograph shows reference W62025V3, the steel silver-dial time-and-date model on Cartier's automatic calibre 3110; no appearance recorded here resolves to it. (Hodinkee) It was Cartier reaching for the everyday luxury-sports buyer: a name brand built to be worn hard.
