The Casio AQ-30W is an early ana-digi (analog-digital) quartz watch from Casio's 1983 catalog, combining a conventional analog dial with luminous hands over a single-line LCD in a black resin case with a squared buckle. Analog-digital layouts were a signature Casio experiment of the early 1980s, pairing at-a-glance analog reading with the digital calendar, alarm, and stopwatch functions the LCD provided. The reference is usually cited as the AQ-30W-1. Inexpensive and unremarkable when new, it became a collector target chiefly through its screen exposure.
