The Casio F-100 was the first Casio quartz watch with a resin case, released in 1978 with module 52, a stopwatch, calendar and its distinctive four front-mounted buttons. (Old Digital Watch) For the Nostromo crew's watches in Alien (1979), the prop department kitbashed two F-100 units face to face on an orange backing plate, producing a wider double-faced instrument that reads on screen as plausible deep-space equipment despite being two off-the-shelf consumer watches. (Iconic Hours) Casio revived the F-100's front-button layout for the modern A100 series, including the A100WE-1A. (Casio)
