The Casio WL-500 is a Tough Solar digital sports watch built on Casio's module 2591: a cushion-shaped resin case of about 43 mm whose dial-spanning solar cell feeds a rechargeable cell rated to run months without light, with five alarms, dual time, stopwatch, countdown timer, and a full-auto illuminator that lights when the wrist is turned in darkness. The case is marked WR 10 bar, and the solar spec placed it above the throwaway digital tier without leaving the double-digit price class.
