The Corum Coin Watch has been the La Chaux-de-Fonds maker's signature since 1964: a genuine United States $20 Double Eagle gold coin split along its reeded edge, one half serving as the dial beneath the hands and the other as the caseback, with an extremely thin movement between them inside a solid 18-carat gold case middle that reproduces the coin's milling. Richard Nixon received one as a gift, Ronald Reagan wore his on a 1981 Time cover and Henry Kissinger owned one, which made the watch presidential shorthand. (Swisswatches Magazine) That is the design Oliver Stone's Nixon copies: the prop is a production-made replica with a faux-gold coin face, not a Corum. (Propstore)
