The Dior Homme Chiffre Rouge line is Dior's entry into men's mechanical watchmaking, launched in 2004 under Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane. Its signature is a deliberately asymmetric case with the crown pushed round to 4 o'clock instead of the usual 3, and red worked in as an accent, Christian Dior's own colour; the line spans several case executions, including the D01 chronograph and the three-hand D02. (Monochrome Watches) Montres de Luxe identifies a Chiffre Rouge, without narrowing the execution or a reference, as the watch Danny Pino wears as Detective Nick Amaro in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999), prominent in his final episode of season 16.
