The Franck Muller Casablanca is the watch that turned a young Genevan complications specialist into a 1990s status name. Its case is a tonneau, a barrel shape curved in two directions so the crystal, the dial and the caseback all bow with the wrist, which is expensive to make and instantly recognisable across a room. The dial carries the outsized, stretched Art Deco numerals Muller uses as a signature, usually with a railway minute track and a small seconds register, and the Casablanca specifically is the one done in a warm sand or ivory tone with contrasting numerals, generally on an automatic movement in gold or steel.
