The Hamilton Contour is a 1938 Art Deco "driver's" watch built around hinged, wire-lugged endpieces that let the rectangular gold-filled case pivot flat against the side, top, or back of the wrist, a party trick Hamilton advertised as the "Three-Way Contour." Its 17-jewel Hamilton caliber 980 runs with the stem at 12 o'clock rather than the conventional 3, a layout dictated by the side-worn orientation. Hamilton sold the design for only two years before discontinuing it, though it briefly returned as a 1980s reissue decades later. Hamilton's own historical film-credit page places a Contour on Armin Mueller-Stahl's Hannon Fuller in The Thirteenth Floor (1999) without naming a specific reference. (Hamilton)
