The Hamilton Flintridge is a solid 14-karat gold cushion-case watch Hamilton produced from 1932 to about 1935, named after the Flintridge golf and country club in the same "resort" naming series as the Hamilton Piping Rock. Its defining feature is a hinged flip-top lid that closes flush over the crystal, marketed at the time as protection for the "out-of-doors" wearer; the design also gave the case a private inner surface, sometimes fitted with a photograph, that only the wearer could open. It ran either the 17-jewel calibre 987 or the premium 19-jewel 979. (Revolution; Hamilton Chronicles)
