The IWC Big Ingenieur Chronograph reference IW378402 is the rose-gold execution of the Big Ingenieur Chronograph introduced in 2009, and its only gold one: the line launched in steel (IW378401), rose gold and a 250-piece platinum edition, and IWC's archive lists IW378402 beside the platinum IW378403 and the steel IW378405 and IW378406. (Monochrome Watches; Gressive; WatchProSite; IWC past collections) Its 18-carat rose gold case measures 45.5 mm across and 14.5 mm high on a brown alligator strap. The black dial sets two silvered chronograph counters at twelve and six, the lower carrying the date, against applied gold indices under a tachymeter scale, behind sapphire. Inside runs IWC's in-house calibre 89360 flyback chronograph with a 68-hour power reserve, wound by the Pellaton pawl system the firm has used since the 1950s. (IWC)
