A hot shot Washington DC lobbyist and his protégé go down hard as their schemes to peddle influence lead to corruption and murder. (IMDb) Directed by George Hickenlooper from a screenplay by Norman Snider, the biographical crime drama premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 16 September 2010 and traces the influence-peddling scandal that ended in Jack Abramoff's 2006 conviction for fraud, conspiracy and tax evasion. Kevin Spacey plays Abramoff, with Barry Pepper as his partner Michael Scanlon, Jon Lovitz as businessman Adam Kidan, Kelly Preston as Pam Abramoff and Rachelle Lefevre as journalist Emily J. Miller. Montres de Luxe, writing in April 2011, names a rose-gold Big Ingenieur chronograph and gives no reference; Watch-ID names the same watch and gives IW378402, while qualifying its own reading as "seems to be wearing" and not officially confirmed by IWC; and the Tokyo dealer Commit Ginza's 2023 column repeats the reference without stating a basis, over a composite it credits to Product Placement Blog. None of the three is IWC or the production, and the still shows a gold case, a black dial and two light counters on the vertical axis without making the logo legible. The reference follows from the execution: IWC's archive lists a single gold Big Ingenieur Chronograph, IW378402 in 18-carat 5N gold with a black dial, beside the platinum IW378403 and the steel IW378405 and IW378406, and the line launched in 2009 in steel, rose gold and a 250-piece platinum edition.
