The IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph reference 3706, sold in Germany as the Fliegerchronograph and often written IW3706, ran from 1994 to 2005 and set the template for IWC's modern pilot's line: a 39 mm steel case with a soft-iron inner cage against magnetism, a matte black dial with luminous Arabic numerals, three subdials and a day-and-date window at three o'clock, on either a leather strap or the brushed steel bracelet. Underneath is a Valjoux 7750 that IWC finished and renamed across three generations, calibre 7902 to 1998, then the short-lived 7912, then the 7922 from 1999; dial variants carry English or German day wheels, which is what separates references such as IW370603 and IW370607 within the family.
