The Longines 13ZN is a manually wound chronograph caliber that Longines introduced in 1936 and built until 1951, becoming one of the most collected chronograph movements of its era. At 13 lignes (roughly 30 mm), the caliber was unusually large for its day, and it was among the first flyback chronographs, letting the wearer reset and restart the timer with a single push of the lower pusher rather than stopping, resetting, and restarting in three separate steps. Cased examples typically carry a bicompax dial, with 30-minute and running-seconds subdials, and the caliber's size and manual-wind flyback mechanism made it a favorite among period military and civil aviators.
