The Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle, reference L2.601.4.11.2, is a 38 mm steel 75th-anniversary reissue documented in 2006. Its automatic Longines L614 caliber is based on the ETA 2892-A2. (Horlogeforum, Xbiao) It revives the 1931 navigation watch Longines built with Charles Lindbergh, adapting Philip Van Horn Weems's second-setting system into a rotating, minutely graduated bezel that can be read directly against Greenwich hour angle. Used with a marine sextant and a nautical almanac, the setup let a navigator convert a star sight into longitude without separate tables. (The Pilot Watch Magazine)
