Rockstar's 1947 Los Angeles detective procedural, unusually rich in period watch detail. Developed by the Australian studio Team Bondi and published by Rockstar Games, it reached PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on 17 May 2011, Windows that November, and PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in November 2017. Players work cases as Cole Phelps, a decorated Marine veteran voiced and performed by Aaron Staton, rising through a succession of LAPD bureaus; interrogations turn on reading suspects' faces, captured with the MotionScan process that recorded actors from thirty-two surrounding cameras at 1,000 frames per second.
