The Lorus Tidal LR0021 dates to around 1990 and comes from Lorus, the value-focused label owned and made by Japan's Seiko. Despite the aquatic name, it is a compact diver-styled quartz watch rather than a tide instrument: a roughly 39 mm case frames a black dial with a triangle-and-dots marker layout, Mercedes-style hands, and a date window, all sitting under a rotating diver's bezel. Water resistance is a modest 50 metres, and it rides on a rubber strap. Affordable and unpretentious, it is the kind of no-nonsense sports quartz on which Lorus built its name, offering the look of a dive watch at a fraction of the cost (watchcharts.com, ebay.com).
