The Omega Constellation Automatic Chronometer reference 14902 dates to 1962, from the era when the Constellation was Omega's premier chronometer-grade line. Its roughly 34 mm case carries the model's celebrated "pie-pan" dial, whose faceted outer ring slopes down like an inverted baking pan, together with applied markers, a date at three o'clock and the observatory-and-stars medallion stamped on the case back. Inside beats the automatic calibre 561, a 24-jewel, bidirectionally winding chronometer movement with about 50 hours of reserve. Every Constellation of this period was officially certified for precision, and the pie-pan examples remain among the most collected of vintage Omegas. (B&O Watches)
