The Piaget Polo is the gold sports watch Yves Piaget introduced in 1979, and its idea is a single surface: the case and the bracelet are worked as one continuous run of alternating polished gadroons and satin-finished channels, so the eye finds no seam where one becomes the other, and even the dial carries the same ribbing with only the hands and a discreet signature interrupting it. That was a deliberately different answer to the same question the Royal Oak and the Nautilus had asked earlier in the decade, and Piaget answered it in precious metal rather than steel, using the ultra-thin calibres the house had built its reputation on.
