The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 1501 is a 34 mm steel Oyster sold from 1963 into the late 1970s as the engine-turned-bezel sibling of the smooth-bezel 1500, sharing its drilled lugs, riveted or Jubilee bracelet options, and dial furniture. Rolex fitted the reference with the chronometer-rated calibre 1570, the same 26-jewel movement used across the contemporary Datejust and Oyster Perpetual Date line, gaining hacking seconds in late production but never a quickset date.
