The Seiko Bell-Matic 4006-7010 is a mechanical alarm watch Seiko introduced in 1968, built around the self-winding caliber 4006A: a 27-jewel movement whose oscillating rotor also winds a separate alarm barrel, striking an audible bell against the caseback rather than relying on the vibrating-hammer alarms other makers used. It was the first wristwatch with a rotor-wound automatic alarm, and remains the only Japanese-made mechanical alarm watch of its era. The 38 mm steel case carries a day-date window at 3 o'clock alongside the "BELL-MATIC 27 JEWELS" dial text and a dedicated alarm-setting crown at 4 o'clock. Import tariffs on watches above 17 jewels kept the full 27-jewel Bell-Matic out of the North American market, so surviving examples are mostly Japanese domestic-market pieces.
