The Suunto Vector is the wrist-top computer the Finnish instrument maker launched in 1998 as the first outdoor watch to combine an altimeter, barometer and compass (the ABC set) with a thermometer. A composite case under an acrylic lens carries a barometric altimeter reading from −500 to 9,000 m, a pressure trend indicator with four days of weather memory, a digital compass with declination correction and a bubble level for tilt, and an altitude log with vertical speed. Sold for close to two decades before it was discontinued in 2016, the Vector became the default mountaineering watch and the reference point for the ABC watches that followed.
