The Swatch Yellow Racer (GJ400) is a Gent-cased Swatch from 1984, the brand's second year on sale, and one of the most collected designs from that early run. It is yellow throughout, case and strap alike, over a boldly graphic dial; the name and the artwork both point at motorsport, and Swatch has described the design as drawing on high-powered machinery like race cars and helicopters. Underneath is the ordinary Gent specification of the period, a sealed 34 mm plastic case around a Swiss quartz movement. Swatch reissued it in 2021 in the BIOCERAMIC 1984 Reloaded collection, one of five designs from that year brought back in ceramic and bio-sourced plastic. (Watch Papst, Worn & Wound)
