TAG Heuer Monza
More actions
The TAG Heuer Monza began as a Heuer in 1976, made to mark Niki Lauda's world championship with Ferrari the previous season: a black-coated cushion case, a red-and-white tachymeter track, and the Calibre 15 automatic chronograph inside. Heuer had put its name on Ferrari's cars and drivers through the decade, and the Monza was the commemorative end of that relationship rather than a racing instrument in its own right. TAG Heuer revived the name in 2000 in a 38 mm cushion case carrying both a tachymeter and a pulsometer scale, which is an odd and rather good combination: one scale reads average speed, the other reads a heart rate, and the dial has to carry two sets of graduations without becoming unreadable.
