The Vacheron Constantin Les Historiques Chronograph 47101 revived the brand's 1940s reference 4178 in 1991 as a manually wound, 36 mm bi-compax chronograph with wing-shaped lugs, offered in yellow gold and platinum with silver, salmon, or black dials. Its calibre 1140 is a 21-jewel, swan-neck-regulator reworking of the Lemania 2320, the finer sibling of the 17-jewel Lemania 2310 that Omega used as its own calibre 321. Vacheron built roughly 1,250 examples in gold and 300 in platinum before the reference 47111 succeeded it in 1999 with a screwed caseback and calibre 1141. (Revolution Watch)
