A Waterbury watch is an affordable American watch from the Waterbury Watch Company, part of the manufacturing lineage that later became Timex. The company's first product was the Long Wind, made and sold from about 1880 with a simplified rotating movement and a $3.50 price. (Smithsonian Institution)
