Casio Databank
More actions
The Casio Databank family collects Casio's keypad-equipped digitals: the calculator watches that began with 1980's C-80 (billed by Casio as a microcomputer for the wrist) and ran through the resin CA-50 of 1984, worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future (1985), and the CA-53W of 1988, plus the Data Bank telememo models that followed 1984's CD-40, which stored ten phone numbers and sold roughly six million units in its first five years. An eight-digit display over a grid of rubber keys became one of the most recognizable wrist silhouettes of the 1980s, and Casio has never stopped making it: the stainless-steel CA-500WE pictured here returned the design to the Vintage catalog in 2023.
