Girard-Perregaux Laureato
More actions
The Girard-Perregaux Laureato is the maker's octagonal-bezel sports watch on an integrated bracelet. At its 1975 launch the watch was called the Quartz Chronometer; in Italy, then Girard-Perregaux's most important market, it became known as "the graduate", Laureato, and its octagonal bezel sits on the round case like a laurel crown. (Girard-Perregaux) Girard-Perregaux revived the design in 2016 as a 225-piece limited edition and made the Laureato a full collection in 2017. (Wikipedia) The steel 42 mm model pictured, reference 81010-11-431-11A, is 10.68 mm thin and runs the self-winding calibre GP01800 with at least 54 hours of power reserve; it stands for a line that also spans 38 mm, pink-gold and skeleton executions, so an unreferenced sighting links the family rather than one watch.
