Patek Philippe (fake)
More actions
This "Patek Philippe" is a fake: the page groups counterfeit props built to resemble a genuine Patek Philippe, each identified as fake by its own production rather than an authentic example of the Geneva manufacture's work. Jason Butler Harner's Kyle Rice wears one in close-up in Non-Stop, establishing that specific prop existed by 2014. (Watch-ID) Three unrelated Chinese productions independently stage the same device: Crime Crackdown gives Sun Honglei's Li Chengyang a prop whose exposed-balance-wheel "tourbillon" window at 6 o'clock is a configuration Patek Philippe has never produced, The Island dresses Yu Hewei's Boss Zhang in a watch its own source states matches no real Patek Philippe model, and If There Is No Tomorrow gives office boss Zhao Juemin a Ref. 5970-style perpetual calendar chronograph exposed in episode 8 by a caseback showing a plain silver rotor where a genuine watch of that complication would use gold. (Xbiao; Xbiao; Xbiao) Each prop borrows the visual language of complicated Patek dress watches without matching any genuine model; because every one is a counterfeit, its real movement, materials, and dimensions are whatever unbranded parts its maker used, and none of a genuine article's calibre or precious-metal specifications can honestly be credited to it. It stands in as a luxury-watch look-alike: the impression of high horology without the substance.
