Kinya Kitaoji is a Japanese actor born 23 February 1943 in Kyoto, the son of period-film star Utaemon Ichikawa, who made his own screen debut alongside his father in the 1956 Toei film Oyakodaka. Over seven decades he has become one of Japanese cinema and television's most enduring veteran performers, known for the Battles Without Honor and Humanity yakuza-film series, the title role of NTV's Miyamoto Musashi, and numerous NHK taiga dramas; he received the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2007. He plays veteran physician Genzo Itagaki in the 2021 drama special In His Chart. (Wikipedia)
