Maria Schrader is a German actress, screenwriter, and director born 27 September 1965 in Hannover. She won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the 1999 Berlinale for Aimée & Jaguar and later played HVA case officer Lenora Rauch across the Deutschland spy-drama trilogy. Behind the camera, she directed Netflix's Unorthodox (2020), winning a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a Limited Series, and the Stefan Zweig biopic Farewell to Europe (2016).
