The Panthère de Cartier is the bracelet watch Cartier launched in 1983 and reissued largely unchanged in 2017, built so the watch reads as jewellery first and a timepiece second. The line spans small, medium and large cases in gold, steel and two-tone across four decades, so no one reference describes its screen record; the photograph shows the 31 × 42 mm yellow-gold large model, reference WGPN0051, introduced in 2024, for which Cartier specifies a two-hand quartz movement without publishing a caliber number. (Hodinkee; Cartier) Its defining feature is the bracelet: flat, articulated links so supple the whole thing drapes and moves like fabric rather than sitting rigid on the wrist, closing the gap between a watch and a gold chain. A square case with exposed screws and a Roman-numeral dial carries the Cartier design language shared with the Santos. It was a 1980s status object that returned as a 2010s one, which is the exact double life that suits it to the Succession wardrobe.
