Morgan Freeman (born 1937) is an American actor and narrator whose measured baritone and screen authority made him one of Hollywood's most recognizable presences from the late 1980s onward. After a breakthrough in Street Smart (1987), he built a career on gravitas-driven roles in Driving Miss Daisy, The Shawshank Redemption, Se7en and Million Dollar Baby, the last winning him the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
