The Casio G-Shock DW-5600C is the watch that fixed the square G-Shock silhouette in place. Introduced in 1987 as the screw-back successor to the 1983 DW-5000C, it carries module 901 in a resin-shrouded case with a reverse (grey-on-dark) LCD, 200 m water resistance, and an incandescent bulb for illumination, the detail that separates it from the 1996 DW-5600E, which swapped the bulb for an electro-luminescent panel.
