Monet is the American costume-jewelry house that Michael and Joseph Chernow grew out of Monocraft, their 1927 Providence, Rhode Island monogram business, launching the Monet name in 1937 for gold- and silver-tone jewelry sold at department-store counters, with quartz watches joining the line by the 1980s. (Antique Trader) One gold-tone Monet watch is on screen as Peggy Bundy's, worn by Katey Sagal in Married... with Children.
