Black Lagoon is Rei Hiroe's action manga, serialized in Shogakukan's Sunday GX since 2002 and adapted into a 2006 anime by Madhouse. Salaryman Rokuro "Rock" Okajima is taken hostage by the Lagoon Company, a band of mercenary smugglers running deliveries out of the fictional Southeast Asian port city of Roanapur aboard their PT boat the Black Lagoon; he stays on with the crew, working alongside gunslinger Revy, boss Dutch, and mechanic Benny, and crossing paths with the Russian mafia's Hotel Moscow, led by the imposing former Soviet officer Balalaika.
