About My Father is a 2023 comedy directed by Laura Terruso, written by Sebastian Maniscalco and Austen Earl and loosely drawn from Maniscalco's own family. Maniscalco plays a Chicago hotel manager who plans to propose to his girlfriend Ellie (Leslie Bibb) over an Independence Day weekend at her family's Virginia estate, and brings his Sicilian-American father Salvo (Robert De Niro) along to meet them. The weekend sets Salvo's immigrant plain-spokenness against the old money of Ellie's parents, senator Tigger (Kim Cattrall) and Bill (David Rasche), and her brothers (Anders Holm and Brett Dier).
