Rolex Submariner Date
Photo: Mayors
The Rolex Submariner Date added a date display under a Cyclops lens to the no-date Submariner with the reference 1680 at the end of the 1960s, and the two lines have run in parallel ever since. Its production spans acrylic-crystal, aluminium-bezel steel watches through the sapphire transitional references of the 1980s to today's Cerachrom-bezel generation in steel, Rolesor, and gold; no single reference describes the family's screen record, which includes Timothy Dalton's watch in Licence to Kill, the last Rolex worn by James Bond in an Eon film. The pictured example is a current-generation 126610LN. (Rolex)
