Kenneth Branagh's 2022 adaptation of Agatha Christie's 1937 novel, scripted by Michael Green and released by 20th Century Studios on 11 February 2022 after pandemic delays, follows Hercule Poirot (Branagh) aboard the steamer Karnak as the heiress Linnet Ridgeway (Gal Gadot) honeymoons with Simon Doyle (Armie Hammer), pursued by his jilted fiancée Jacqueline de Bellefort (Emma Mackey); Tiffany & Co. lent the production the 128-carat Tiffany Diamond that Linnet wears. Worn by Armie Hammer as Simon Doyle. Doyle wears a rectangular steel watch whose dial is turned along the wrist, the signature of Tiffany's East West, in two frames an Uhrforum member posted in May 2022, relaying an identification from a thread on the Military Watch Resource forum that named the East West Automatic. The frames show the rotated case and a dark dial on a leather strap and support the model; the automatic rather than the earlier quartz East West rests on the forum reading, and the watch is a 2016 design in a story set in 1937, an anachronism the production presumably accepted for the sake of its jewellery partner's current catalogue.
