Faceless (正体, Shotai) is a 2024 Japanese theatrical thriller directed by Michihito Fujii and adapted from Tameto Somei's novel of the same name. Murder suspect Keiichi Kaburagi (Ryusei Yokohama) escapes custody and drifts across Japan under a series of false identities, while detective Seigo Matanuki (Takayuki Yamada) tracks him by interviewing the strangers who briefly sheltered him, including Sayaka Ando (Riho Yoshioka) and Kazuya Nonomura (Shintaro Morimoto); each account describes a different man, and the film builds its mystery from the gap between them. Yutaka Matsushige plays Seiichi Kawata, one of the people Kaburagi's flight draws in. Shochiku released the film in Japan on 29 November 2024; it earned 13 nominations at the 48th Japan Academy Film Prize, with Yokohama winning Best Actor and Yoshioka Best Supporting Actress. (IMDb)
