Hero's Island (Takarajima) is a 2025 Japanese film directed by Keishi Otomo, adapting Junyo Shindo's Naoki Prize-winning novel. Set in Okinawa under American occupation, it follows childhood friends Gusuku (Satoshi Tsumabuki), Yamako (Suzu Hirose), and Rei (Masataka Kubota) across two decades as they search for the truth behind the disappearance of Onn (Eita Nagayama), the eldest of their group and a folk hero among the young "war-trophy raiders" who stole supplies from US bases. Ao Nakamura, Kumi Takiuchi, Sho Gen, Ryu Kohata, Eita Okuno, Hideaki Murata, Derrick Dover, Pierre Taki, Riya Sakae, and Shinya Tsukamoto round out the cast.
