Ted Demme's prison comedy-drama for Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment. Framed for a murder they didn't commit during a 1932 bootlegging run into Mississippi, two Harlem hustlers are sentenced to a life term on a Southern prison farm and spend the following six decades enduring, and outlasting, it side by side. Eddie Murphy stars as small-time hustler Rayford "Ray" Gibson opposite Martin Lawrence as bank teller Claude Banks, with Obba Babatundé, Ned Beatty, and Bernie Mac in support. (IMDb)
Watches
- Hamilton pocket watch
- Worn by Eddie Murphy as Rayford "Ray" Gibson. Hamilton spent the first half of the twentieth century as America's leading railroad-grade watchmaker, supplying more than half the pocket watches that kept U.S. railways to schedule, which puts one in the pocket of a Harlem hustler in 1932 on firm ground. The credit gives no model, grade, or case detail to narrow it further. (Hamilton)
