Lost in Translation, written and directed by Sofia Coppola, was released by Focus Features in September 2003. Bill Murray plays Bob Harris, a fading American movie star shooting a whisky commercial in Tokyo, who forms an unlikely bond with Charlotte, a neglected young wife played by Scarlett Johansson, over the course of a jet-lagged, sleepless week.
