Masquerade Hotel is a 2019 Japanese crime mystery directed by Masayuki Suzuki for Toho, adapting Keigo Higashino's novel of the same name. Detective Kosuke Nitta (Takuya Kimura) goes undercover as a front-desk clerk at Tokyo's fictional Hotel Cortesia after coded notes left at a string of murders point to the hotel as the site of the next killing, and clashes with veteran staffer Naomi Yamagishi (Masami Nagasawa) over how a hotel should treat its guests. Atsuro Watabe plays Inagaki, the hotel's general manager, in an ensemble that also includes Fumiyo Kohinata, Nao Matsushita, Gaku Hamada and Ryo Katsuji. The film opened January 18, 2019, was Japan's top-grossing release of the year, and was followed by a 2021 sequel, Masquerade Night. (Wikipedia)
