A depressed man becomes the first human subject of an experimental brain treatment that erases negative emotion, and his effortless new contentment begins to unsettle everyone around him. (IMDb) Alain Jessua wrote and directed the film, released in France in 1982; it was Patrick Dewaere's final screen role before his death that July. Dewaere stars as patient Alain Durieux alongside Jacques Dutronc as Dr. Pierre Valois, Fanny Cottençon as Alain's wife Jeanne, and Philippe Léotard as Marc Lebel.
