Twin brothers, both WWI veterans and former Chicago gangsters, return to 1932 Mississippi Delta with cash and Irish beer to open a juke joint in a disused sawmill, only for a supernatural evil to arrive at the door. (Wikipedia) Written and directed by Ryan Coogler, the film casts Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as the twins, Elijah "Smoke" and Elias "Stack" Moore, the older Smoke marked as the more pragmatic and serious of the pair. Released by Warner Bros. Pictures in April 2025, it grossed $370 million worldwide against roughly $90-100 million and earned some of the year's strongest reviews.
