Seiko 6139
Worn by Peter Falk as Lieutenant Columbo. Columbo's own watch is a Seiko 6139 automatic chronograph with a blue dial under a blue-and-red tachymeter bezel on a steel bracelet, shown in two frames an Uhrforum member posted in August 2026: one of Falk wearing it, the other an insert close-up of the watch held in his hand with the dial legible. A reply placed the frames in The Most Crucial Game (season 2, first broadcast 5 November 1972) and Candidate for Crime (season 3, 4 November 1973). In Candidate for Crime the watch is a plot device: Columbo produces a Seiko identical to the murdered aide's and knocks it against a table to show the killer, Jackie Cooper's Nelson Hayward, that the victim's stopped watch cannot fix the time of death, a scene the Tokyo dealer Commit Ginza's column on the series also records, naming the watch as the Seiko 5 Speed-Timer 6139-6000. The close-up shows the blue dial, the 30-minute register at 6, the day-date window and the blue-and-red bezel of the export 600x cases; the case-back reference that would separate the 6002 from the 6005, and both from Commit's 6000, is not on screen, so the family is recorded. Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox
Worn by Jack Cassidy as The Great Santini. In Now You See Him (season 5, episode 5, first broadcast 29 February 1976) Cassidy's magician the Great Santini wears a LeCoultre Memovox, shown in a dial-filling close-up at about 16:45 that an Uhrforum member posted in April 2018: the LeCoultre signature of the US-market Memovox under 12, "Automatic" above 6, dagger indices, and the inner alarm disc with its pointer that only the Memovox carries, in a steel case on a steel bracelet. The member offered the identification tentatively, but the alarm disc settles the family; the automatic marking points to the self-winding calibres of 1956 onward rather than the manual 489, and no reference is legible, so the line is recorded.
